Lorraine A. Brett, 82 of Kennewick, Washington passed away May 26, 2017 at her home. She was born September 12, 1934 in Adams County, North Dakota to Peter and Mabel Wiste.
Lorraine and Glen met while she was still in high school; then he looked her up while on military leave, letter writing began and the rest as they say, is history! They were married September 23, 1954 in North Dakota and settled in Spokane, Washington. They started their family and she worked many years at Sacred Heart Hospital until the family transferred to Kennewick in 1966.
Lorraine was a longtime member at Kennewick First Lutheran Church, sang in their choir and was active in the Altar Guild. She is an avid WSU Cougar fan. She and Glen would entertain all Coug fans from their motorhome at every home game. They also enjoyed taking the grandkids on trips in the bus. The best thing about having children is definitely the grandchildren!
The past several years she dedicated all of her time and energy caring for her husband, Glen. She was a terrific caretaker and spent many hours at his side during various hospitalizations and rehab journeys. Nobody will even replace or duplicate that love and devotion.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Glen, children Michelle (Howard) Rickard, Greg (Janet) Brett, Lori (Ken) Brickey; grandchildren Steven (Kayleigh) Brickey, Heather (Jake) Vick, Gregory Rickard, Nicole (Garrett) Garretson, Meredith Brett and Natalie Brett; great-grandchildren Aiva, Bailey, Connor, Ayla and Grace Lorraine, the newest family member. Great-Grandma would always say, "My, she is a busy one!" Many extended family members and dear friends also mourn her passing.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 23, 2017, 2:00 p.m., at MUELLER'S TRI-CITIES FUNERAL HOME, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 26, 2017, 2:30 p.m., at Greenwood Cemetery, Spokane.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Lorraine's name to Tri-Cities Food Bank, 420 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick, WA 99336.
