Lynn Plummer Obituary

PLUMMER, Lynn Therese (Age 44) Lynn, the youngest of four children, was born in Spokane October 29, 1965. This sweet little girl was a delight and joy to her whole family. She attended Northwest Christian School, graduated from North Central High School and attended E.W.U. for one year before moving to Oregon. Her father instilled in his children an adventuresome spirit and a love of nature through a variety of activities: camping, rafting, kayaking, skiing, hiking in the North Cascades, a one week canoe trip on the Bowerman Lakes in Canada, biking over the North Cascades Highway to explore the San Juan Islands, biking to San Francisco on Highway 1. There was never a dull moment. Lynn especially loved biking and swimming, swimming one mile nearly every day. She participated in two triathlons, many bicycle races and Bloomsday. At an early age she gave her life to Jesus and attended Community Bible Chapel. In Spokane she worked at a nursing home and as a firefighter forester in Oregon. Lynn's adventuresome spirit continued in Oregon. On July 5, 1991, she and some friends decided to climb Black Butte Mountain in Northern California. During the treacherous descent she slipped and fell a great distance suffering a closed head injury and oxygen depletion. She nearly died, but this was not her time. She remained in a comatose condition for 18 years. The Lord called her home on February 25, 2010. Now she is free and enjoying fullness of life with Jesus. She will be greatly loved and remembered forever. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bryan and her grandmother, Betty Nye. She is survived by her parents, Bill and Ilene; her brother, Bruce; her sister, Leslie Stevens and her two nieces: Jennifer and Rachel Stevens. Her Memorial Service, in celebration of her wonderful freedom she is enjoying with her Lord and Savior, will be held Wednesday, March 10, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 2215, Spokane WA 99210-2215. Please sign Lynn's online guestbook at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements by

March 10, 2010

I remember Lynn as a classmate and friend from our high school days at NC. We sat together in class, Biology as I recall, and although she was quiet and paying more attention than I was during class, she was always sure to smile at a good joke or listen to my stories before or after class. I always knew there was a big and adventurous spirit behind that serene exterior. My sincere condolences to her family.
