Lynnette "Nettie" WASHINGTON

1968 - 2024

Spokane - Lynnette "Nettie" was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. Her early years were spent primarily between Calvary Baptist Church and Southeast Day Care Center. While attending Lewis & Clark High School, she excelled academically and competed at WA State AAA High School Championships in track, basketball, and volleyball for several years in a row. At a young age, Nettie was a woman of many groundbreaking roles: singer, songwriter, artist, and model. The role she loved most was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She had the most infectious smile, which showed brightest when playing with her children. Nettie was a member of the League of Women for Community Action, a Non-profit DBA Southeast Day Care Center, to give back to the place that nurtured her so much as a child. Nettie is survived by Albert Byrd Washington, husband; three wonderful sons, Sterling, Sidney, and Anterius; Pheebe, Sterling, Jr; grandchildren; Carole Shook, mother; Christian Shook, sister; Marvin Shook Jr, brother; along with a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and multitudes of awesome friends and acquaintances. She was preceded by Audranae Washington, her daughter; and Marvin Shook, her stepfather. Small live plants and flower bulbs are welcome to establish a memorial garden.
