Lynnette WASHINGTON Obituary

Spokane - Lynnette "Nettie" was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. Her early years were spent primarily between Calvary Baptist Church and Southeast Day Care Center. While attending Lewis & Clark High School, she excelled academically and competed at WA State AAA High School Championships in track, basketball, and volleyball for several years in a row. At a young age, Nettie was a woman of many groundbreaking roles: singer, songwriter, artist, and model. The role she loved most was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She had the most infectious smile, which showed brightest when playing with her children. Nettie was a member of the League of Women for Community Action, a Non-profit DBA Southeast Day Care Center, to give back to the place that nurtured her so much as a child. Nettie is survived by Albert Byrd Washington, husband; three wonderful sons, Sterling, Sidney, and Anterius; Pheebe, Sterling, Jr; grandchildren; Carole Shook, mother; Christian Shook, sister; Marvin Shook Jr, brother; along with a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and multitudes of awesome friends and acquaintances. She was preceded by Audranae Washington, her daughter; and Marvin Shook, her stepfather. Please join us for Nettie's memorial: at 10:00 am Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Southeast Central Day Care Center 2227 East Hartson Ave., Spokane, Washington 99202. Small live plants and flower bulbs are welcome to establish a memorial garden.

Lynnette, it's me again. Christian has joined you in heaven. I know that you both are together again. I still haven't come to terms of you both being gone. I miss both of you. I remember that we both didn't make it to the prom because our dates was called in to work and we went to McDonald's drive through. I remember my mom laughing at us both. Even though you both are gone, I still cherish the memories that we had. Remember at Thompson, it was winter and Stevie and Jerome tricked us by telling us that they were making ice bombs from the snow? We started helping them and Thompson came out of the house and the barrel was on fire, it wasn't funny then because we all got in trouble. Now we can laugh about it now. We always fell for their crap. I will always think about you both, and I will miss you both. Rest in peace my dear friends

Lynnette and I have been friends since third grade. We attended Grant, Libby Jr High and Lewis and Clark High School. We also went to the same babysitter (Loree Thompson). I am so sadden to know that she had went to be with the lord. I am going to truly miss her. Sending prayers and condolences to the family and friends.

Dear Ones,
We send our love, prayers and heart felt sympathy in the loss of precious Lynnette. Karl remembers Lynnette as one of his first kids in youth group. We remember her as a beautiful, gifted and talented woman. Her infectious smile and bright spirit lit up a room. We always got the sense she was "going places" of which she did. We have very fond memories of her and she will be missed.
Love,
Karl and Karen Landrus
