Marjorie passed away on July 8 2021 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Spokane WA. on January 31st 1936, the seventh child in a family of eight children. Her mom passed away early in her life which required her and some of her siblings to live at the Hutton Settlement for Children until an older sibling was able to care for her. She attended Browne Elementary then graduated with honors from North Central High School. She was a member of the Red Feathers and Color Girls along with many other school groups. She met her husband to be, Larry, at an ice cream parlor in Spokane. Soon after high school, Larry joined the Army. They married on December 26, 1954 and left for Texas where they began their life together. The family moved to Newport, WA in 1958 and built a home on the Pend Oreille River where they raised their children. Marjorie was a homemaker and for many years a secretary at Sadie Halstead Elementary. Many of her activities included taking her children to the beach in front of their home, going with her family to the ski hill or high Alpine backpacking. She was always caring for her family and students from Newport. Throughout her later years, she continued to love and laugh with her grandchildren. She was the best grandma-playmate that any child could ever have. She always had her beloved (sausage) dog/sidekick, Wilbur, beside her. She loved watching the birds, animals, and the beauty that she saw daily from her backyard. She especially loved sunsets over the river. Marjorie had a vibrant and bubbly personality.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Larry Shaw, and her children Steve (Holly) Shaw, Charles (Nancy) Shaw, Kyle (Geri) Shaw, and Jeannie (James) Larson, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Violet Anderson, brothers William Anderson, Robert Anderson and her sisters Marcella Boehme, Lois Reeder, Velvagay Barranco, Joanne Phillips, and Irene Delvechio.
A celebration of her life will be held on July 24th, 2021 starting at 2:30 p.m. at her son Kyle's home at 241 Big Sky Road, Blanchard, Idaho 83804. Friends and family are invited for remembrance, festivities, and music. There will be signs along the way.
