To Claudia (especially), and to Lee, Drew, and Steve,

So sorry to hear about your mother. I learned about bikinis and hula dancing from her, and have nothing but fond memories of the overnights I spent at your house on Pinecrest Road, and later, at the house off Rockwood, where Bird-of-Paradise flowers could be found next to the swimming pool. It was the height of exotica, and your mother was integral to that bit of paradise in the midst of a semi-arid climate. And the numerous weekends at Sacheen Lake, where she was always the consummate hostess, even to a grade-school kid! I am grateful for the many good memories of her and your family, and I hope that you are feeling her grace among you now.

With best wishes,
Frances Bracken Huessy
