Michael HACKNER Obituary

Michael Alan Hackner of Spokane, WA went unexpectedly into the loving embrace of God on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Mike was born on August 22, 1968, in Yakima, WA to parents Gary and Joan (Berghoff) Hackner. He married the love of his life, Anne Marie Hoffman, on October 1, 2004, in Spokane.

Mike grew up on a family farm near Toppenish, WA, and graduated from Toppenish High School in 1986. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and TV from Eastern Washington University in 1990, followed by a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Washington State University in 1995, and later completed certified counseling coursework.

Mike enjoyed a varied career, working on local video productions, regional law enforcement, and social work. Through the years, he was a proud member of the Masons and a CASA volunteer. His favorite pastimes were playing his trumpets, cooking, spending time with friends, and photography.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, and mother, Joan. He is greatly missed by his father, Gary Hackner, brother Steve Hackner, sister Jane Morse (Mike), nephews Ethan Hackner and Matthew Morse, and niece Anna Morse.

Friends and family are invited to Holy Cross Cemetery on August 22 at 10 o'clock to remember and celebrate his life.
