Mike LEWIS Obituary

Michael L. Lewis passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2022 at 76 yrs. old. Mike was born in

Tacoma, WA on January 29, 1946, to James and Jeanne Lewis who proceeded him in death along with his stepmother Deldee Lewis. He is survived by his two brothers, Brad Lewis, Doug Lewis, and his sister, Judy Davis.

He was a wonderful father to his three kids Brad Lewis, Chris Lewis, and Jennifer Fishback, even learning all the words to the Grease soundtrack to sing with his daughter. Mike was a beloved, fun grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Jakob, Tucker, Finn, Austin, Lily, Blake, London, and Chace.

Having spent most of his life in the armed forces, Mike was a combat veteran and had two bronze stars. He was a Green Beret, Dive Master, Underwater engineer, an inventor of a multi-purpose bullet-proof jacket, and a non-visible infrared underwater night vision device just to name a few. As a paratrooper, Mike had master jump wings and led his Green Beret unit in the retracing of the Lewis and Clark trail in 1971. He was a part of a Special Forces Veteran Riders team, an avid fishmen, hunter, rodeo rider, pilot, and even used to ride his horse to school. After retirement, Mike continued his life of service by donating his time to Meals on Wheels.

Mike was an amazing man with more accomplishments under his belt than could be expected in ten lifetimes. His family joked that Mike could build a shopping mall in the wilderness with a pocketknife and toothpick; he will be truly missed. As Mike would say, "Stay low and keep moving."
