Norman GOEDE Obituary

November 25, 1941 – May 19, 2025

Norman Robert Goede, lovingly known as Bob, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 19, 2025, at the age of 83, in Wenatchee, WA.

Bob was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on November 25, 1941. He loved Northern Idaho and spent his childhood working for his family business, The Sourdough Club. After school, Bob went on to join the Army, where he was proud to serve his country. After an honorable discharge due to injury, Bob moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he worked as a skilled commercial painter, a profession he took pride in throughout his life and used these skills to serve his siblings, nieces, and nephews when they purchased their first homes and businesses.

Bob never married, but he was deeply devoted to his family. After moving back home from Nevada, Bob spent his time rekindling family relationships, going to weekly Sunday dinners at his parent's house.

Bob was clean and sober for 54 years, and was passionate about his sobriety and dedicated much of his life to helping others on their recovery journeys. He mentored countless individuals through Alcoholics Anonymous and served faithfully at the Alano Club in Spokane, WA, offering strength and hope to those who needed it most.

In his free time, Bob loved fishing, teaching his nephews how to count cards, pinnacle, 4-wheeling, clam digging, and camping - always drawn to the outdoors and the thrill of adventure. He cherished moments with family and friends, sharing stories and laughter wherever he went.

Bob loved food and loved it even more when someone else made it for him and double bonus points if it was ready promptly at 5pm. We have so many incredible memories with our uncle and many of our campfire stories revolved around something hilarious he had done earlier that day. His favorite thing to do was ask the youngest great-great-nieces and nephews to pull his finger and when they would fall for it, he would keel over in laughter along with the rest of us.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanne and Norman Goede; and his sister, Paulette Farmer. He is survived by his brother, Jahn Goede of Hayden, ID; nephews, Jeff Farmer (Gina) of Wenatchee, WA, Gary Stott of Post Falls, ID, Samuel Goede of Steilacoom, WA, and James Goede of Tacoma, WA; as well as nine great-nieces and nephews; and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews. His love and presence will be missed across generations of family.

A celebration of life will be held on June 21st, at 1:30-3:30pm, at the Alano Club, 1700 W. 7th Ave., Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alcoholics Anonymous.
