Pamela SPINO Obituary

Pamela Grace "Pam" Spino, 78, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Spokane, Washington.

Born on June 21, 1946, in Port Townsend, Washington, Pam grew up with a deep sense of faith and community that would guide her throughout her life. She graduated from Immaculate High School in Seattle in 1964 and went on to attend Fort George Wright College. Following her studies, she entered the Holy Names Convent, where she remained until 1981-a testament to her lifelong devotion and spiritual commitment.

Pam was married to Pat Spino Jr. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Spokane on August 31, 1985. The church would become central to her life for decades. She and Pat were faithful members of the parish and active participants in its vibrant community. Pam sang joyfully in the church choir and was involved with the Faith and Light group, offering support and fellowship to others through shared worship.

Pam's life was filled with creativity and warmth. She had a passion for baking that brought joy to many gatherings. In her later years, she discovered a love for watercolor painting and sketching-an artistic pursuit that earned her a blue ribbon at the Spokane County Fair for a portrait of a cat. Her talents extended beyond art; she was also known for organizing family outings and cross-country trips that created lasting memories.

As an Air Force wife for seven years, Pam embraced adventure and adaptability with grace. She cherished time spent with friends and family-especially fishing trips with Pat-and found joy in simple pleasures shared with loved ones.

Pam was deeply involved in numerous organizations that reflected her generous spirit and zest for life. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society of Women of the Moose, L'Arche of Spokane, Faith and Light Group, Wild Rose Ramblers square-dances, and other community groups where she formed lasting friendships. After being diagnosed with Parkinsons, she sang with the Tremble Clefs.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Andrew William (May 1987); her mother, Mae L. Steck (Raynor); father, Edward W. Steck Jr.; and siblings, Nathan Steck and Peggy Steck.

Pam is survived by her devoted husband, Pat Spino; siblings, Louise Gervais, David Steck, and Gary Steck; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will carry forward her memory with love.

Pamela Grace Spino will be remembered for her unwavering faith, creative spirit, loving heart, and enduring kindness. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 26, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 330 E. Boone Ave. Reception to follow at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

Pam always exemplified what it was to be a true Christian - from the days when she sang in St. Al's Sunday choir, to her final years coming to mass regularly with Pat, she was always someone positive that you could talk to! We should have had many more coffees and doughnuts after mass at St. Al's over the years, but, no regrets, we are grateful for the ones that we did have! Rest in eternal peace, Pam - You are one of the good ones!

Aunt Pam, you were one of a kind. A gentle, loving soul. I will always remember your warm hugs at family get togethers. And your laugh. And your beautiful paintings later in life that you made. You will be greatly missed. Thank you for all your love and kindness. Whenever I take a deep breath and search for a quiet calm within myself, I will remember you. Such a peaceful loving presence you were. Sending heavenly hugs.

Aunt Pam was a real character, and a woman of faith! I loved watching her with little Gracie and Jimmy when they were born. She was always so generous with her artistic talent, and making cards. She never forgot a birthday or a holiday. Her sweet smile and disposition will be greatly missed! Also, Uncle Pat, I´m so sorry for your loss. She was SO lucky to have you by her side. I´m sorry we can´t make it to the service, but Gracie, Jimmy and I send our love with Marc. Hugs to everyone

Aunt Pam was such a great lady. I enjoyed visiting her in Spokane over the years, and she and Uncle Pat visited us in Western Washington frequently. I loved listening to Aunt Pam play the flute when I was young, and her cakes were always beautiful and delicious. Her smile and laugh were wonderful and I will miss Aunt Pam greatly.
