Patricia CHAMBERS Obituary

CHAMBERS, Patricia (Andrachek) TSGT USAF, Ret.
(Age 68)

Patricia arrived just before her twin sister Pauline in July 1949 at the Charleroi-Monessen hospital, in Pennsylvania.
She was the daughter of John Andrachek Jr. and Helen Ann (Sobosle).
"Peppy" died on April 5, 2018 at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane, WA.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and younger sister Margaret Susan Dempsey.
She is survived by her husband Terry R. Chambers, son Brett T. Chambers (Andrea), stepdaughters Lori Anne Obbie (David) and Marcie Rae O'Connor (Patrick), stepgrandsons Ian and Evan O'Connor and granddaughter Penelope J. Chambers; sisters Marsha A. Dinsick (Walter), Pauline Bosko (Jack) and brother Kevin Andrachek (Evans).
After graduating from high school in Belle Vernon, PA she pursued a degree in education from California State Teachers College of Pennsylvania. After three years she decided that she needed an adventure and in 1972 enlisted in the United States Air Force where she served 20 years until retiring in 1992.
During her time in the Air Force, she worked as a laboratory technician and lab supervisor in Texas, Alabama, Ohio, Greece, England and finished her Air Force career at Fairchild, AFB in Spokane, Washington.
After her Air Force retirement, she went back to school and finished her education at Eastern Washington State University in the school of Social Work. She was proud to graduate the same day in 1994 as her daughter Marcie.
She became a Washington State licensed certified counselor and Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) and worked at the Spokane Regional Health District in the methadone program.
Pat was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and took a lot of flack over the years, especially when the "Stealers" beat the Sea Hawks in the Super Bowl. But she would root for the Hawks as long as they weren't playing the Steelers.
When Pat and her sister turned fifty they both wanted to do something special so a family reunion of sorts was scheduled for Las Vegas. She enjoyed it so much that she went back every year. She also enjoyed the slot machines at the local casinos and made many friends, especially the staff at Northern Quest buffet.
Special thanks are given to all the staff at Sacred Heart Hospital who made her final days as comfortable as possible and to her long time physician Dr. Brian Seppi and his staff.
Military funeral honors will be conducted at the Washington State Veteran's Cemetery in Medical Lake at a later date.
