Pat was born Feb. 27, 1945, in Seguin, Texas, the eldest child of the late Charles Leroy Hoffman and Merle Josephine (Jarrott) Hoffman. As a military family, the Hoffman's moved often, finally settling in Sacramento, California. Pat graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1963. She attended college at Spokane Falls Community College and Eastern Washington University, where she studied nursing. Pat worked as a mental health technician for the State of Washington for 34 years, retiring in 2014. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, motorcycle rides, and spending time with her friends, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Pat was the first female member of the Medical Lake Fire Department, joining in 1986. She also volunteered as a classroom reader for the Medical Lake School District. She supported several non-profit organizations including the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society. She was a loyal Gonzaga University basketball fan. Pat always made everyone feel like a member of her family and could always be counted on to make people laugh.
Pat is survived by her three children, Vance Blakely and wife Corina of Spokane, Tim Blakely and wife Susie of Medical Lake, and Julie Smith and husband Lorin of Charles Town, West Virginia.
She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Sheila, Kayla, Amber, Becky, Jennie, April, Samuel, James, Olivia, and Samantha, and numerous extended relatives and close friends.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Hoffman and Roy Hoffman.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
