Paul KERR Obituary

It is with broken hearts the family of Paul Stuart Kerr announces he quietly passed away the morning of January 28, 2022. Paul was born in Seattle, Washington on March 23, 1945 to William B. and Charlotte (Doctor) Kerr and lived in Spokane most of his young childhood. He and big brother Jeff had a lifetime of adventures and antics. Paul attended Sacred Heart School until the age of twelve when his father accepted a position with Boeing and they moved to Seattle where he finished middle school at St. George's. He graduated from Seattle Prep in 1963 and spent that summer on a crab boat in the Aleutians with his buddy, Jack Barber.

Paul married Marcia Micheau (div) in 1965 and had two daughters, Kameon and Dena. He worked briefly for Snap-On Tools and spent many years with C.E. Niehoff & Co. The young family moved to Spokane in 1976 where Paul and his business partner opened an auto parts supply store. After a few years, Paul returned to Snap-On Tools and worked for the company until his retirement. Paul loved cars and so it was no surprise he worked in industries auto related.

Paul loved October when bird season opened and he could go duck and pheasant hunting with family and friends. He enjoyed camping and numerous vacations at Priest Lake, Idaho. He loved throwing darts in the IEDA league with his daughter, Dena. Another favorite activity was golf. He learned to play at a young age and was a youth caddy at Manito Golf & Country Club. He was a long-time member of Harrington Golf & Country Club where the members were like family to Paul. He treasured the many friendships he made over the years.

Paul is survived by the loves of his life; his daughters Kameon Thompson (Michael) and Dena McAtee (Wes Manson); his grandchildren Kylena Kerr, Hailey Thompson, Molly McAtee, Brett Thompson, Braden Thompson and other family and close friends who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his parents, brother, and grandparents. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.

Paul and I were best friends all through high school. Upon graduation, we went to Kodiak, Alaska looking for work. As fate would have it, we got a job crabbing out of Unalaska, Alaska and stayed there until we went home. It was a great adventure, hunting, fishing, and exploring the WWII abandoned naval station. He was the best friend anyone could have!
