Raymond Douglas SOLOMON

Raymond Douglas Solomon passed away on March 9, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Ray was born June 15th, 1955 to Earl Wallace and Virginia (Allum) Solomon of Great Falls, Montana. Along with sisters Myrna, Marcia, Gerri, and younger brother Bill, he grew up in Great Falls and attended elementary, junior high, and Great Falls High School.

Ray had two children Nick and Amanda Ray was part owner and operator of the Cookie Jar for several years in Great Falls and for a short time in Billings before relocating to Spokane, WA, and starting work as a truck driver for Spokane Transfer. Ray met the love of his life Kathy Carpenter and they later married on April 18th, 1998 and remained husband and wife until his passing

Aside from work, Ray enjoyed spending time with his good friends Gary (Debbie) Brickman and the late Mike (Karon) Taylor known as the "three stooges" by those who knew them. Ray loved the simple pleasures of life like spending time with friends and family, riding his Harley Trike, walking his favorite dog Handsome, playing cribbage with his niece, nephew, and several friends, having a monthly game night with friends, sitting on the front porch having drinks with neighbors, cheering on the Montana Grizzlies, Gonzaga Bulldogs and sometimes the Minnesota Vikings. He was always quick with a joke or funny story, his greatest joy was making people laugh. Ray's son Nick was very important to him and enjoyed keeping up with him on their daily phone calls, he was very proud of the things Nick had accomplished in his life and loved him very much. Always wanting to help anyone at any time whether it be a DIY home project or snow removal Ray was always there with a smile on his face and he will be sorely missed by the many people who had the privilege to know him. Ray is preceded in death by his mother and father, his sisters Myrna Gilfeather and Marcia Lenander, and a nephew Mike Tedrick. Ray is survived by his wife, Kathy of Spokane, WA; his sister Gerri (Jim) Tedrick of St. George, Utah; nephew, Casey; his brother, Bill (Lori) Solomon of Great Falls, MT; nephew, Mark; nieces, Rachel, Christine in Minneapolis, MN area, and Bella; nephew, Corban of Billings, MT; daughter, Amanda of Great Falls, MT; and son Nick (Kathy) of Mesquite Nevada. Memorial Service will be held at North Country Chapel, 2281 W Seltice Way, Post Falls ID on June 10th at 11:00 am.
