Robert MURRAY Obituary

On February 21, 2022, in Spokane, WA Rob passed away due to complications from cancer, with his children Kirsten and Jonathan by his side. Born October 9, 1965, in Pensacola, FL, he moved as a small child to Santa Clara, CA where he spent the early years of his childhood before moving to Spokane, WA following his father's retirement from the Navy.

Born with a rare eyesight disorder, Rob had a special way of viewing the world. He was never cross, believed in all things social justice, and worked diligently to be a good son, brother, father, uncle, and friend.

He spent the late 80's & 90's between Everett & Spokane. He met his first wife, Deb, in Everett and also worked for Boeing's Food Service company. Moving back to Spokane to be near family, his first child Kirsten was born in 1991 and then back to Everett where his son, Jonathan was born in 1993. Rob also worked and frequented at many gyms in both cities, as working out and being fit was a personal passion.

In 1997 he moved back to Spokane for a final time where he reconnected with and married his second wife, Nicole, in 2002, adding step-son Brandon.

He was a dedicated life-long Raiders fan, held a serious affinity for John Lennon and The Beatles, appreciated his decades-long friendship with Bob Gallagher @ 4,000 Holes, and aside from his dogs, his children, and extended family were his world. He always brought a smile, a positive attitude, Camcorder (whenever possible), and song to every situation he encountered.

He enjoyed good food, good music, and good company. He had a very strong bond with his younger brother Greg and Dad, Robert. The trio often found time to go out for a good meal and a movie.

Preceded in death by his wonderful mother, Mary, and niece, Anna, Rob is survived by his father, Robert; sisters Cathy, Sandra (Manuel), Linda (Ed), Tonya (Joe); brothers James (Katrina), and Greg (Alicia), daughter, Kirsten (Taylor), son, Jonathan (Leticia), wife Nicole, step-son, Brandon, many nieces, and nephews a great group of long-time friends and his beloved dogs Oliver and Duck.

His children and extended family would like to express their deepest thanks for the warmth and care he received while at Deaconess Pulmonary ICU.

In lieu of any flowers, please consider a donation in Rob's name to Guide Dogs for the Blind Puppy Raisers in Spokane @ http://guidedogs.com.

To the extended family and his children , be comforted in knowing that nothing was more important to him than all of you. He found much joy in being able to be with all of you whether it was family events, having a great meal or a combination of both ( holidays) it made him very happy. He loved telling me stories about all of you and growing up together, family traditions (ie dough-dobs) and those darn show-tunes! He was proud of being a Navy kid, growing up in Santa Clara and Spokane being able to look back with fondness on just about everything. He loved you all so much! Thank you for being there for him.
