Robert SHEPHERD Obituary

Robert John "Bob" Shepherd passed away at Deaconess Medical Center, on October 15, 2025. Bob was born in Spokane, WA, on April16, 1945, to Bruce and Iva Shepherd. He lived in Spokane all his life. He attended Lewis and Clark High School and graduated from EWU in 1974, where he earned his BA. Bob taught elementary art in School District 81 until he retired.

Bob worked at Kaiser Aluminum for several years. He worked in the foundry with molten metal. Bob's art form was metal sculpture; some pieces are cast, and the others are hammered. He had one man shows and sold many of his sculptures.

Bob had great times fishing with his friends. He loved skiing, kayaking, cycling, back packing, and gourmet cooking and dining. His passion was working on and participating in car shows with his "fly yellow" 54 Studebaker HT.

Bob traveled in Europe, Mexico, and Saipan. He celebrated the millennium New Year's Eve 2000 in New Orleans on Bourbon Street.

Bob's parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Carol; brothers, Dave (Carolyn) and Ron (Vicki); children, Brian (Dawn) and Alana (Nanette); stepchildren, Steve Douglas (Kathy) and Dawn Douglas-Gienger (Kevin); grandchildren, Rhianna, Ayden, and Samantha; step grandchildren, Danyelle, Isabella, Austin, and Tyler; and step great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jayden, and Bayley.

Before he passed Bob said, "I have no regrets, well, one or two but I'm not telling."

Robert Shepherd was an awesome human being that cared so well for his wife, Carol, and his family. He will be dearly missed by the people that loved him.
