Our beloved Robert, Bob, passed away peacefully December 12, 2025.
Bob was raised in Great Falls, Montana. He spent many seasons fishing, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors of Montana. Bob graduated from Central Catholic High and the University of Montana. Bob and his college friends often hunted deer to have meat for the winter months. The Montana Air Guard provided valuable military experience for Bob.
Bob moved to Spokane and married Diane Bartol in 1967. They had two children, Becky and Timothy. For over 18 years, Bob was a trusted manager and customer favorite at multiple branches of the Washington Trust Bank.
In 1989, Bob married Robin Tharp and delighted in joining her and her 3 children: Casey, Rocky, and Kelli Tharp.
Bob continued his financial career by earning his Certified Financial Planner designation and was associated with Quantum Financial Planning in Spokane. He later joined Robin in managing her Allstate Insurance agency until they retired in 2008. They enjoyed many awards while with Allstate, including a Mediterranean Cruise and trips to Hawaii and Buenos Aires.
Bob really enjoyed golf, and in one year, they played 29 different courses, including those in WA, MT, ID, Canada, Florida, South Carolina, and Hawaii.
In retirement, Bob and Robin shared their time between Sun City in Oro Valley, Arizona, and Trutina in Liberty Lake. In both communities, they found countless friendships which added to their enjoyment of retirement.
Bob was always connected to his community and served many organizations, including Central Lions Club, Cancer Society, Spokane Lilac Festival Association, and President of the Spokane Financial Planning Association.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas. He is survived by his adoring wife, Robin, five children, and their spouses: Becky Oos, Tim Oos, Casey and Elce Tharp, Rocky and Dena Tharp, Kelli and Marty Leith. Bob's nine grandchildren will always remember his kind heart and unwavering love.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., on January 10th, at Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

I knew Bob through Robin´s insurance office. He was always nice and friendly, they had a swimming pool and I did some work on it for them. Bob would always say don´t even look at the heater. I think the heater was from Fred Flintstones pool but, it always worked. I haven´t seen him for 20 years but, still remember him fondly.
