Robert WARNER Obituary

Robert "Bob" John Warner, 86, passed away peacefully of natural causes in his Spokane Valley home on September 2, 2025. Bob was born May 29, 1939, to A.T. "Jack" Warner and Virginia "Jerry" Helen (LaVeine) Warner in Spokane and grew up near Manito Park.

Bob graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1957 and later attended Eastern Washington University and Spokane Community College, including a machinist apprenticeship at Wagstaff Machine Shop. He served his country as a Sailor in the U.S. Navy. His service began with two years in the reserves, followed by two years of active duty stationed in Iwakuni, Japan, and concluded with another two years in the reserves in Spokane.

He was a man of many talents who worked as a machinist, tool and die fabricator, industrial engineer, and an inventor with several patents. In his lifetime, he worked at Warner Machine Works, Cominco American, General Electric, Telect, and Patterson Tool & Die. His hobbies included working on cars, forestry, land surveying, downhill skiing, dancing, singing and karaoke, traveling, flying, and spending time with his friends and family. He actively participated in service organizations like the Exchange Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Rotary International, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a lifetime member of the Spokane Valley Rotary.

Bob married Luella "Ruth" Robertson November 17, 1962, in Rosalia, Washington. In their 62 years together, they had four children and seven grandchildren: Jackie (Steve) Moore in Ellensburg with Sarah (Jonas) and Hannah; Jamie (Mike) Meisner in Everett with Matthew and Marcus; John (Riza) Warner in Spokane Valley with Merveille; and JoJo (Jim) Lindenfelser in Spokane Valley with Roland and Isabelle. Bob and Ruth hosted many international foreign exchange students and maintained an intimate familial relationship with the Mendívil de León family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his second daughter Jamie Meisner (May 4, 2025). He is survived by his wife Ruth and their children, his sister Joan Warner, his grandchildren, and his numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
