Roger "Rod" MOYER

Roger (Rod) Moyer, age 71, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on December 14, 2022, doing what he loved to do…working in his yard.

Roger was born April 26, 1951, in Emmett Idaho to Earl and Helen Moyer. He was the youngest of five children. Roger graduated from Council High School in 1969, where he excelled in sports, had a thing for fast cars, and was loved and respected by his classmates and teachers.

After moving to Boise, Roger started his lifelong career in retail management. He was a very dedicated and hardworking manager at Grand Central, Home Base, CompUSA, and Lowes. Rod was a self-motivated worker and took on any project thrown his way- including building his first home while he was employed at Simpson Builders. He shared that home with his daughter Andrea for 18 years.

Roger met and fell in love with Stacey Phillips, and they were married in 1995 in McCall ID. Their union brought together their two daughters Andrea and Molly. After moving to Alaska in 1996, the family was complete when their son Tanner was born.

Roger's life was full and well-lived. His happiest moments always included boating and camping on the lake, watching Tanner play hockey, traveling, and spending time on the beach with Stacey.

Roger leaves a lifelong legacy of integrity and devoted loyalty to those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Stacey; daughter Andrea Moyer-Farmer (Jeremiah), daughter Molly Phillips Williams, and son Tanner Moyer. He was adored by his six beautiful grandchildren: Cooper, Max, Laney Jo, Finley, Jameson, and Seth. Also left to cherish his memory are sisters, Doris Newell (Manny), and Donna Denney (Lawerence), sister-in-law Linda Moyer, brother-in-law Walter Howard, first wife Pam Simpson, and many nieces & nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Helen Moyer, sister Elaine Howard, and brother Floyd Moyer.
