Rosemary (Boyle) STEWART Obituary

STEWART, Rosemary (Boyle) Jul 28, 1947 - Nov 12, 2025 Rosemary (Boyle) Stewart, 78, of Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 12th, 2025. Born on July 28th, 1947, Rosemary was proudly raised in Butte, Montana, by her loving parents, Eleanore "Nellie" and James "Bud" Boyle, along with her adoring grandmother, Mary Valentine Murphy, whom she lived with during her high school years. Rosemary attended St. Joseph's Elementary School, Girls Central High School, later continuing her education at Montana Tech and the University of Montana. With a lifelong love of learning, she returned to college at the age of 52, earning her teaching certification from Eastern Washington University and fulfilling her dream to become a teacher. While studying at Montana Tech, Rosemary met the love of her life, Bill Stewart of Miles City, Montana. They were married in 1969 at St. Joseph's Church in Butte and built a life together through many moves before settling in Spokane, Washington, in 1975. Their marriage was a blessing to all who knew them, and they shared 56 beautiful years together. Rosemary was not only a gracious and loving mother, grandmother, sister and wife; she was also a compassionate and cherished friend to all who knew her and she loved them all. She had the gift to make any situation laughable, could always find a reason to be social, and extended her warmth and love to anyone she crossed paths with. Becoming a grandmother was one of her life's greatest joys, and she took her duty of spoiling her grandchildren very seriously. Throughout her life, Rosemary devoted her time to causes she cared about, most notably Newcomers Club, Westview Elementary School PTA, Sunday School Teaching, Girl Scouts, Crosswalk, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Meals on Wheels. Rosemary met every challenge of her Parkinson's with the same grace, patience, and love that defined her life. Rosemary is survived by her deeply loving husband, Bill; children, Renae, Ryan, Billy and his wife, Jen, and Sara and her husband, Brendan; eight grandchildren, Chase, Tristan, Stewart, Casey, Beckett, Sienna, Esben and Roselle, whom she loved very much. She is also survived by her sisters, Sheila Boyle, Debbie Tolliver; and her brother, Bill (Marilyn) Boyle. She cherished all of her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial followed by a gathering will take place at 2pm, on November 25th, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224. A celebration of life will take place in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, Rosemary's family ask that donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) at www.namispokane.org.

I knew Roscoe while at IL Crop Improvement Association. I found him to always be an outstanding person that supported his staff in their search for excellence in their work.
