Shirley Kolbeck Obituary

KOLBECK, Shirley Ann (Pharness)

September 22, 1939 ~ February 12, 2011

Shirley was born on September 22, 1939 in Spokane and passed away on February 12, 2011 in Spokane. She was raised in Spokane and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1958.
Shirley is survived by her son Michael Kolbeck of Spokane, daughter Cheryl Kolbeck of Kirkland, granddaughter Jessica Kolbeck of Everett, brother Alan Pharness of Spokane, uncle Wallace Pharness, aunts Betty Pharness and Evelen Hamer, nieces Julie, Nicole and Andrea, daughter-in-law Ann Kolbeck, sister-in-law Signe Pharness, numerous cousins, former husband of 24 years Bert Kolbeck and her precious kitty Brandy. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Joyce Pharness.
Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed many hobbies, one of which was genealogy. She traced her family history back to Col. William Barret Travis who fought at the Alamo. She loved camping in the Montana wilderness with her family, gardening, cooking and canning. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts and reading. Shirley later became a certified nursing assistant and worked for Sunshine Gardens until 2009.
Shirley will always be remembered for her bright and beautiful smile, soft demeanor, a wonderful and kind soul and for her love of animals. She was the best Mother, grandmother, sister and aunt anybody could ever wish for. Her family will greatly miss her.
Private ceremony pending.
Forever and always, we love you Mom.
