Shirley SCRIBNER Obituary

SCRIBNER, Shirley Ann
(Age 66)

Shirley Ann Scribner, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2016 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, MT after a hard fought battle with cancer. Shirley was born July 26, 1949 in Spokane, WA, the daughter of Francis and Yvonne Staebell.
She attended St. Augustine grade school and graduated from Mary Cliff High School in 1967. In 1968 she began working at Pacific Northwest Bell where she worked for the next twelve years. In 1969, Shirley married the love of her life Denzil Scribner. Together they had two children, Tara Lee and JD Thornton. In 1980 the family left Spokane and moved to St. Regis, Montana to live the small town dream. In 1985 she began her work in the banking industry, later retiring from Mullan Trail Bank in 2014.
Shirley was a devoted sports fan with Nascar being her favorite. Other passions included annual camping trips to Priest Lake and relaxing getaways to Vegas. Every year she looked forward to the Scribner's Labor Day Pig Roast with family and friends. Her proudest achievement was becoming "Grammers" to her five beloved grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Denzil of St. Regis; daughter Tara (Jason and children Brendan, Rylee, William) Barnes of Kalispell; son JD (Jody and children Chase, Kinlee) Scribner of Cataldo, Idaho; siblings: Mary Peer, Gerry Rose and Joe (Jan) Staebell all of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Scribner's Little Joe Ranch in St. Regis, Montana Saturday, July 16th at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Family and friends are asked to bring a side dish and a story.
