Steven William "Steve" Hebert, 68, passed away on November 29, 2025, in Spokane, Washington, after a nine-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born on December 6, 1956, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Steve lived a life marked by kindness, curiosity, and deep devotion to his family.
Steve built a successful career as a financial planner and insurance agent. Through his work, he helped countless individuals and families plan for their futures with care and integrity. His clients appreciated not only his professional expertise but also the genuine warmth and patience he brought to every interaction.
Outside of his career, Steve had a wide range of interests that reflected his adventurous spirit and inquisitive mind. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and found great joy in riding and taking scenic drives with his beloved wife, Cindy Hebert. Whether cruising down winding roads or exploring new routes together, these moments were among his most cherished.
Steve was also fascinated by trains and airplanes - he loved to watch them with the same wonder he carried throughout life. A devoted fan of world history, he could often be found reading or sharing insights about historical events. Earlier in life, he worked as a radio DJ - a role that allowed him to share his love of music and connect with listeners through his easygoing nature.
Those who knew Steve remember him as kind-hearted and always ready to lend a helping hand. His smile could brighten any room, and his presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. He loved deeply and gave freely of himself to family and friends alike.
Above all else, Steve was proudest of his role within his family. He shared a loving marriage with Cindy Hebert and was a devoted father to James (Linsey) Hebert and Kaitlyn (Chad) Smith. Being known as "Pops" to two beautiful grandchildren, James Jr. and Beaux, brought him immense pride and happiness. His love for them was boundless.
Steve is also remembered by his siblings: Anita (Dennis) Dinning, Bill (Muriel) Hebert, and Susan (Scott) James. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hebert and Ruby Hebert, and his sister Joann Croot, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.
A memorial service celebrating Steve's life will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 10:00AM.
May Steve's memory bring comfort to all who knew him. His legacy of warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Earlier today
We had the pleasure of meeting both Steve & Mike many years ago when they took over our taxes. Steve always made sure to give solid guidance to keep us OUT of the IRS office (unlike our previous "advisor"). When we met with him, the conversation would always gravitate to motorcycles & the best riding gear. I can still remember his smile and laughter. The world is that much poorer for his passing. He's free of his earthly bondage. RIP, Steve!
