Susan PETERSON Obituary

On February 6, 2022, with her loving family at her side, Susan Peterson passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord, reunited with the loved ones that have passed before her. Susan was born on December 3, 1965, in Pittsburgh, PA to Jack and Janet Mullen. At the age of 6, Susan and her family, which now included her brother John, moved to Vancouver, WA, where Jack and Janet set down their roots and raised their family. After graduating from Columbia River High School, the Mullens moved to Wenatchee, WA, but Susan stayed in Vancouver and attended Clark Community College. Missing her family, Susan moved to Wenatchee and attended Wenatchee CC, where she met her future husband, Dan Peterson, in a philosophy class – a story Susan loved to tell!

Dan and Susan were married in July 1990, and while living in Yakima, WA, Susan gave birth to their first son, Ryan. Three years later, they were blessed with the birth of Andrew, and shortly thereafter moved to Spokane, WA, where Susan created an amazing environment for raising their boys. After both boys entered elementary school, Susan went to work for the Central Valley School District as a School Secretary and worked at various schools over the years.

Susan was a busy woman, and she poured her heart into all that she endeavored – church, room mom for the boys, PEO, teaching Missionettes, paint nights with her friends, scrapbooking, crafting, decorating, and much more. She became a supportive sports fan, attending countless sporting events of her boys, nephews, and niece. Susan's legacy is filled with meaningful personal relationships with too many to count, and all that have been a part of those relationships have felt a sincere love from her and the genuine interest that she had in them. Susan will be missed in more than words can say. She had a caring soul, a loving heart, a mother's touch, and a wife's tender and supportive love. Her beautiful smile and disposition lit up every room and will be truly missed.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Janet, and her brother John. She is survived by her husband Dan, sons Ryan and Andrew, in-laws Mike and Robin, Tim and Becky, Aunt Marilynn, Uncle Jay, nephews, niece, and cousins.

Susan's celebration of life will be held at Sun City Church, located at 10920 E. Sprague Ave., Spokane Valley, WA, on Saturday, March 12 at 1:00 pm.
