Theron POTTER Obituary

Theron "Ray" Potter passed on March 18, 2025, after a long illness. He was born to Fred and Glida Potter in St. Anthony, ID, the youngest of five children. Theron graduated from South Fremont H.S. and proudly served aboard the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier in the Pacific. He subsequently served in the Idaho Army National Guard and finally in the WA State Naval Reserve CBs.

Ray worked in aviation, construction, and in later years, at WA State University, where he retired after 17 years. He was married to his life love, Gail Zeller, in 1968 in Seattle, WA. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved fishing, hunting and watching sports and especially, Star Trek, and working in his shop. There always seemed to be a vehicle that needed restoration!

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gail; daughters, Kerri (Emmitt) Schoolcraft, Spokane, and Meagen (Jeff) Erickson, Abilene, TX; and his much-loved grandchildren, Zachery and Christian Erickson, and Joshua and wife, Becky Schoolcraft. He also leaves many loved nieces, nephews, and dear friends across the country.

Theron Ray will be interred in the Columbarium at the WA State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA, with military honors on September 19. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WA State Veterans Cemetery or a charity of your choice in his name. The Potter family wishes to thank those who have graciously supported them in his loss.
