Thomas BELLINGER Obituary

BELLINGER, Thomas M. After more than 40 years of living with chronic pain and several other health conditions, including on- going depression, Tom ended his life on Monday, June 1, 2020. Memories of Tom will live on in the hearts of so many whose lives he touched. He was a wonderful crafts- person and a compassionate human being. Local schools were lucky to have him in their classrooms as a substitute teacher and he was instrumental in starting the "Reading Room" at Jefferson Elementary, a service that benefited many struggling young readers. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his cherished daughter, Mariana, and a large and loving extended family. In following his wishes no services will be planned, but if you would like to honor Tom's memory, please consider a blood donation or a gift of time to your favorite charity.

Carol, thinking of you at this very tough time. I appreciated our friendship as we worked near each other at Garco. Each day I always observed your professionalism in every area of your job. You cared for Tom admirably and showed genuine concern for him in his trials. Big hugs to you.

Tom and I were good friends from our days at Gonzaga Prep and beyond. Fortunately, we had a chance to visit with Tom and Carol recently. Rest in peace my friend.

Tom,
Though we did not maintain regular contact after age 22, I will always consider you to be a life-long friend. We shared our formative years together, lived on the same block, graduated from the same high school, took trips in the same car (your Austin Healy), and formulated our hopes and plans for the future over more than a few cold beers. You, Carol, your mom, and your sisters still have, and will always have, a special place in my heart. God will undoubtedly shine his light upon you.

Tom and I grew up through Little-League days together in Ephrata, and some of my best memories from those times derive from the Bellingers' basement and backyard sleep-outs w/ Tom and assortments of brothers & pals. Goodbye, sweet boyhood friend--Until next we meet on this Great Mandala.
