POWELL, Vera Jean ( Age 77) Vera passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her home in Spokane, WA, surrounded by her three children. Her Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 22 at 1:00 pm at the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley in Spokane. The service will be a combined memorial for Vera and her late husband, Charles ('Rod') Powell, who passed away November 24, 2016. Vera was born July 15, 1941, in Missoula, MT. She attended Sentinal High School, graduated in 1959, and married Rod Powell in 1960. They moved to Royal City, WA in 1973 where they raised a family and were very involved in their small community. Vera enjoyed a long career with the Royal School District in various office manager roles. Vera and Rod moved to Spokane in 1992 where she again worked as an office manager for Arcadia Elementary in Deer Park. They enjoyed traveling, attending live theater, and spending time with family and close friends. Vera is survived by her three children, Jeff, Todd, and Kristi; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
