Victor WALLACE Obituary

On January 28, 2022, at 12:26 pm, God called home and gifted an angel his wings.

Victor Emanuel Wallace Sr., born September 9, 1934, leaves behind one brother of eighteen siblings, seven children, twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a handful of wonderful beings blessed into the family through the unity of love. Also mourning his loss are many other family members, life-long friends, and acquaintances who were blessed to know Vic even, if only for a brief time.

Aside from his exceeding success as a man, father, and friend, Vic was also a member of the Air Force, Cheney University Police Department as Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Chief of Police, making him the first-ever African American to be honored as Chief of Police in Washington state. Lastly, he was a dedicated supporter of the Eastern Washington University campus.

Although he is no longer here in the physical sense, his strong, amazing, blessed spirit will forever live on through all who were fortunate enough to experience his presence.

Fly High Angel, Rest In Love & Peace.

A viewing for Vic will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Hennessey Funeral Home on Division Street in Spokane. A second viewing will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00 am and his Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, beginning at 12:30 pm. Vic will be laid to rest at 2:00 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, following Vic's Funeral Service. Please visit www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com to leave your condolences on Vic's online guestbook.

Truly one of the nicest men I've ever met. One of the best parts of any Eastern event was knowing you would get a laugh and a story from Vic. We'll miss you.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Wallace family. We always loved to see him at EWU football and basketball games. He was the definition of being an EKG: an Eastern Kind of Guy. God bless!

I always enjoyed seeing Vic whether at the station in Spokane, while he was at work in Cheney or at the many EWU football games. He was a true gentleman and a joy to visit with at any time. I know he will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to get to meet and know him. He was always a booster for his family whom he loved without question. Our condolences to the family. What joy he must be experiencing with our Lord and Savior and being united with his beloved wife.
