Wallace VOLWILER Obituary

Wallace Edgar Volwiler 95, of Spokane, Washington passed away on

October 19, 2023. Wallace was born on August 11, 1928, in Highland

Park, Illinois, to Ernest and Lillian Volwiler. He graduated from Miami of

Ohio University in 1950 with a degree in psychology and economics.

After serving two years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War,

Wally accepted a managerial position at Johns Manville, where he

worked for more than 30 years. He retired from Johns Manville as Vice

President of the industrial pipe division.

Wallace married Lynette Adam in 1951 and the couple had three

children. Wally and Lynn had a very happy 72 years together. Over the

course of their marriage, they lived in nine different states.

Wally enjoyed woodworking, golf, and travel. His family and friends will

always remember him as a compassionate man and a dedicated

Christian. Wally cared deeply about the needs of his community. He

served on boards for both The Salvation Army Camp Gifford and the

Rockwood Residents Foundation.

Wally is survived by his wife Lynn, and his sons, Stewart

(Darrelle) of Spokane, Washington; Richard (Laury) of Mount Vernon,

Washington; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was

preceded in death by his son Charles Volwiler.

A memorial service is scheduled for l0:30 a.m. on January 13,2024 at

the Rockwood Summit Community Center. All are welcome to attend

and celebrate Wally's life.

Donations can be sent to the Spokane Salvation Army or the Rockwood

Residents Foundation.
