Allen Zaloudek
August 5, 1938 - November 2, 2025
Allen Anthony Zaloudek, age 87, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at his residence in Sarona, WI. He was born on August 5, 1938 in Barron County, WI, the son of Anton James and Amelia Helen (Mazel) Zaloudek. He was united in marriage to Brenda Marie Paffel on October 7, 1961 in Shell Lake, WI.
After graduating high school from Spooner, WI in 1956, Allen attended UW-Madison for Agriculture. Allen proudly served his country with the Wisconsin National Guard and served an active-duty deployment in the state of Washington during the construction of the Berlin Wall. While serving he received valuable training in heavy equipment. He had an enjoyable 33 year career in forestry and fire control with the Wisconsin DNR, retiring in 1997. Allen loved attending local parades where he dressed as the beloved Smokey the Bear. His career in forestry gave him a deep appreciation for the woods and it was there he would always find peace. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting turkey and deer and also loved to fish. He loved going to auction sales as this is where he would visit with old friends and make new ones. Most of all, Allen was a family man and always happiest when spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Brenda Zaloudek of Sarona, WI; his children, David Allen (Connie) Zaloudek of Sarona, WI, Melissa Kae (Bill) Petz of Chippewa Falls, WI and Dawn Susan (Jim) Raymond of Howard Lake, MN; his grandchildren, Kayla (Phil) Klein, Amanda (Cory) Bates, Andrew Petz, Allisha (Dalton) Jeske, Alana Petz, Abigail Petz, Erik (Shelby) Raymond and Natasha (Collin) Giebenhain; -his great-grandchildren Parker Klein, Kinley Klein, Remington Bates, Beckett Bates, Maggie Raymond, Paisley Giebenhain and Emma Jeske. His siblings, John (Delores) Zaloudek, Marjorie (Curt) Johnson, Gary (Rosemary) Zaloudek, Karen (Mike) Dostal and Lois Kemp; his sister-in-law, Eileen Zaloudek; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Edward Zaloudek.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Sarona, where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of Mass. Interment with military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
