Patricia A. Hubin, 77, of Shell Lake, died Friday, April 13, 2025, at Aspirus St Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born May 25, 1947, in St. Paul, MN, to August and Thelma (Newville) Hansen. She graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1965, then graduated from Lutheran Deaconess Nursing School class of 1970 in St. Paul. She was married in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cumberland, on May 11, 1974, to James Hubin.
Pat spent 43 years serving her community as a Registered Nurse. She maintained a strong presence in her community, volunteering at the Washburn County Fair and for the Shell Lake After School Program. Pat was very involved in the Shell Lake United Methodist Church and particularly enjoyed the Sarah Circle Bible study group. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, a member of a women's league bowling team, a hobby farmer (she loved her ducks and chickens) and enjoyed camping and fishing. Above all, she enjoyed the company of her family.
She is survived by her children: Joshua Hubin of Cameron and Aaron (Sara) Hubin of Shell Lake; 1 sister, Joy Severson of McKinley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2019; parents, August and Thelma Hansen, and her brother, Roger Hansen, niece Sharrylle Severson and nephew Patrick Severson, Sr.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Shell Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Adelbert Freja officiating. Burial takes place at Shell Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Shell Lake and for 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Serving as casket bearers are Paul Hansen, Chris Hansen, Patrick Severson, Todd Schrankel, Chad Schrankel and Pete Schrankel. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Severson and Stan Severson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the WI Nurses Honor Guard.
