Steven Michael "Steve" Hove, age 81, passed away on October 17, 2025, in Spooner, Wisconsin.
Born on February 5, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Steve was the son of Jessie and Anker Hove. He grew up in Wisconsin and went on to earn a vocational degree in drafting and technical engineering. This foundation led him into a long and fulfilling career where he applied his technical skills with dedication. Equally gifted with words as he was with tools, Steve also found success in various sales positions throughout his life, where his natural charisma and ease of conversation served him well.
Steve cherished time spent with family and created lasting memories at Cyclone Lake in Spooner, Wisconsin. Summers by the water were a treasured tradition. In later years, he enjoyed wintering in Florida, embracing the warmth and relaxation that came with the season. A true enthusiast of vintage cars, Steve found joy in collecting and appreciating classic automobiles - a passion that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and history.
He was a proud member of the Freemasons, finding community and purpose through this longstanding fraternal organization.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Claire; his children, Scott Hove (Julie) of Roberts, Jeff Hove (Andrea) of Runnells, Iowa, and Angela Hove of River Falls, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren: Maia, Steven, Joseph, Nicholas, Ashley, Gabriel and Sara; and three great-grandchildren: Naomi, Sullivan and Mariana. Later in life, Steve had the opportunity to connect with half-siblings, Deb Perry, Carolyn Larson and Mark Larson - relationships he valued deeply.
