LEIFHEIT, Betty Jane 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 21, 2014. She was born March 29, 19025 in Huntington, West Virginia. Betty was a Springfield Elementary School teacher for 26 years having taught at Washington and Horace Mann Schools. She was a lifetime member of the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association and the Clark County Retired Teacher's Association. She was a 38 year member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a long time member of the Eastern Star Norris chapter 426 -- now merged with Neal Chapter 522. She was also a long time member at First Christian Church and was active with the work of the church as long as she was able. She is survived by two Sons; Gary (Sandy) and Don (Susan) Leifheit, Springfield, Grandsons; Jay Leifheit of Roaring Springs, PA., Jeremy (Heather) Leifheit, Brian Leifheit and Michael Leifheit (Katie) and five Great Grandchildren; Ember, Halle, Venna, Gracie and Jeremy (JD) Leifheit all of Springfield, Ohio. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; Don F. Leifheit, her mother; Elizabeth Rader and a son; Richard. Betty will be sadly missed be her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in First Christian Church with Pastor Dave Augustus officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services in the church. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
