Charles Dear Obituary


News Death Notice

DEAR, Charles 78, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 in Melbourne, FL. He was born September 12, 1932 in Columbus, OH the son of Donald and Dolores (Alword) Dear. He resided in Enon, OH for 36 years before moving to Melbourne in 1998. Charlies military career started with 4 years in the United States Marine Corps, then he went on to serve 17 years in the United States Air Force. He served in Korea and Vietnam as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Specialist. Charlie retired from the Springfield Air National Guard in 1985 as a Master Sergeant. Charlie loved fishing and was an avid Cincinnati Reds baseball fan. He will be missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Betty Dear and a sister Doris. Charlie is survived by his wife Fredia Fultz Dear; two sons and a daughter-in-law Charles, Jr. and Vivian Dear, and Steve Dear; two daughters Vickie Thompson and Sheri Dear; four stepchildren and spouses Pat and Bill Roberts, Debbie and Mark Stoll, Chuck and Missy Fultz, Sherry and Jerry Wiford; one brother John Dear; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service in Springfield, OH on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday from 1-2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the National Fallen Heroes Foundation, P.O. Box 233, Zelienople, PA 16063.
