Family-Placed Obituary
BEARD, Dale A. 57, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away December 1, 2007. He was born July 7, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Carl & Geneva (Davis) Beard. He was an electrical engineer at Alektronics, Beavercreek. He was a graduated in 1968 from Tecumseh High School and General Motors Institute of Technology in 1973. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ruth A.; his father and step mother, Carl & Joyce Beard; a sister, Barbara & Kenny King; sisters-in-law, Anne Bereda, Lois (Mike) Snyder and Mary Chambers; many nieces and nephews who lovingly knew him as Uncle Fuzzie, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, a brother, Steve Beard, and in-laws, Ed & Frances Straukamp. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 5-8 p.m. Tuesday December 4, 2007 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.trostelchapman.com

Ruth:
You may not recall me, but I worked with Dale at Frigidaire. He was my thesis advisor (I graduated from GMI in 1979). Over the years, I kept up with Dale when he had his own business, occassionally visiting him at his office in Centerville. He did some work for me while I was in Detroit and also in Tucson, Arizona. Today, I tried to find his e-mail address to send him a holiday note, and found the obituary instead. I am filled with sadness at the untimely passing of such a brilliant man. He was one of the best engineers I've ever known, and a wonderful teacher to me.

As you know Dale was and will always be my HERO. The loss of this great man will be forever in the hearts and lives of each and every person who had the blessing of knowing Dale Beard.
