News Death Notice
BLEVINS, David Lee age 52, died suddenly in his residence on July 21, 2010. He was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on November 8,1957, the son of Elias Jr. & Eula Faye Blevins. David owned and operated D.L. Blevins Mechanical Co., with his son Kurtis. He is survived by the love of his life Bonnie, and was married for 34 years. Son and daughter-in-law Kurtis & Mellissa Blevins of Springfield. Daughter and son-in-law Julie & Joe Wood and Davids mother Eula Faye Blevins of St. Paris. Three grandchildren, Taylor & Cole Blevins & Jessica Wood. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & close friends. Brother Larry (Vicki) of Tremont City. Sisters Mary (Darrell) Fox & Lisa (Shawn) Massie both of St. Paris. Sister-in-law Diane (Gail) Frock, Thackery, Oh. Brother-in-law James (Cheryl) Martin, Springfield, Oh. He was preceded in death by his father Elias Jr. Blevins (2005), several aunts & uncles. He loved boating, fishing, hunting & playing banjo, but most of all his three grandchildren, Taylor, Cole & Jessie, who will miss him terribly. A gathering of family & friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday July 26,2010 in the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Funeral Home, 2425 N. Limestone St., Springfield with a memorial service at 8:00 p.m.

I live in Illinois now but I used to live in Ohio. I first met David when he came to fix my furnace one cold night. My daughter Stacey was visiting me and she called him. Since I've moved to Illinois, I have kept in touch with Bonnie and David through Stacey (who loves the family so much) and I had hoped one day they could come together to visit me here (Bonnie has already been here with Stacey). I think he would have loved the country and the lakes, etc. Bonnie, Kurt and Julie, my heart goes out to you and the rest of your family. I know how much you love your Dad as I have heard it so often, and I know he is especially proud that you are giving him another grandchild, and he WILL know that grandchild. Someone as nice and caring as he was has got to be with the Lord. God bless you all. Ann Hall

My brother was such a sweet person, he always had a funny story to tell or joke to make you laugh. You always felt good when he was around, he just lightened the mood. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. He was a great uncle to my daughters, Courtney would see his car at Mama's house and come to see if she could walk over to see uncle Dave. We all have lost a truly wonderful man! Our lives will no longer be the same.

David was not only my brother in law he was one of my best friends. God has taken one of the best we have laughed together we have cried together he was always there for us.We will miss you very very much. You are so loved.

I had the privilidge of meeting Dave through Brian Aldridge when I was visiting him and Jenny (my sis in law) a few years back . We played music together and I enjoyed being with this fine gentleman . I know he will be missed greatly by his very close family and his friends including myself and my wife Lucille . Dave will be forever missed at Castle Country Rest. Him and his son,are very good customers and workers,of ours. They have fixed almost EVERYTHING around the rest. Dave was one of the best people we knew! HE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED!All of our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

my dearest love,i love you so much.i need you by my side.this is a terrible nightmare that i have to wake up from.we were going to grow to be 80 years old ,sitting on the front porch,still holding hands,with our kids,grandkids and greatgrandkids right there with us.i love you baby.you are my love of my life. how can i go on?
