David Martin Obituary
News Death Notice
MARTIN SR., David A. 66, of Springfield, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday April 9, 2011 in his residence. He was born June 20, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of George and Eva (Parks) Martin. He attended Possum Road Church of God. He was currently employed at Navistar where he has worked for forty-eight years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 402. David was an avid Ohio State fan. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Ann (Gibbs) Martin; son, David A. Martin Jr. of Springfield; step-children and their spouses, Zachary and DeEbra Capper, Hurshell Thomas Capper, Sherry and Dennis Benston all of Springfield; brother, George Thomas Martin of Springfield; step-grandchildren, Zachary (Wendy) Capper, Cody Capper, Abby Benston and Hannah Benston; step-great-granddaughter, Bridget Capper. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Debbie Martin and step-grandson, Kane Thomas Capper. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday April 13, 2011 with Pastor Vern Plyler officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. You may express condolences to the family at www.littletonandrue.com
