Family-Placed Obituary


BAKER, Elden E. Sr. 77, of Springfield, died Sunday evening, July 24, 2005 in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Pike County, Ohio on September 14, 1927 the son of the late Scott and Stella (Yoakem) Baker. Elden retired from Glazier's Local 923, Dayton. He was a United States Army Korean War veteran. Survivors include his ten children and spouses, Diana and Don Masem of South Vienna, Stella and Bruce Clark of Tampa, Florida, Liz and Doug Muncy of Springfield, Judy and Gene Husted of South Charleston, David and Brenda Baker of Springfield, Jim and Abby Baker of Springfield, Elden E. Baker Jr. of Springfield, Roger and Marlena Baker of New Carlisle, Paul and Kathy Baker Sr. of Springfield, and Bob and Gina Baker Sr. of Springfield; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Anna Hunter of New Carlisle, Mary Knisley of Bainbridge, Violet and Clyde Taylor of Greenfield, and Goldie Looney of Greenfield; thirty grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife of 49 years, Ethel N. Baker preceded him in death in 1999 as well as a sister, Edith Bailey and three brothers, Everett, Wilmer and Paul Baker. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Roland Albert officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
