Eldon HEATH Obituary
News Death Notice
HEATH, Eldon "Buck" Of Springfield, passed away at his daughter's home on May 22, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Brownsville, WV on Oct. 3, 1931. He graduated from Chillicothe High School and enlisted in the US Marine Corp at age 17. He served as a Sargent in the Korean War at the Inchon Landing with the 4th Marines and with the 1st Marine Division at the battle of the Chosin Reservoir. He was a proud member of the Marines "Chosin Few." Eldon was a self-employed Salesman in the Springfield, Dayton area, later working and retiring from the Fisher Beverage Co. He was a life member of VFW 1031, The 963 Eugene "Doak" Walker Marine Corp League and American Legion Post 6. Eldon was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann (Driggs) Heath, daughter-in-law Carol Ann (Jacobs) Heath and brother Raymond Stevens. He is survived by sons Eldon Jr., Kenneth W. and daughter and son-in-law Dianne and Mike Botkin. He will also be missed by grandchildren Rachel (Jason) Barlow, Traci (Mike) McFann, Mark (Jenni) Patterson, Jessica and Jared Heath; great-grandchildren Nicci (Matt), Logan, Brody McFann, Olivia Barlow and Katie and Elizabeth Patterson. Our thanks to Community Mercy Hospice for their help, support and care for our Dad and family during our father's illness. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7PM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. A service to honor Eldon will be Friday at 11:00AM in the Memorial Home with Pastor Mike Berner officiating. Burial to follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the 963 Eugene "Doak" Walker Marine Corp League for the Toys for Tots at www.mcleague963.org.
