GRAU, Francis Raymond 81 of Springfield passed away Friday, June 16, 2006 in Community Hospital. He was born in Bradford, Ohio on November 1, 1924, the son of Christian and Edith (Koontz) Grau. Francis retired from Morris Bean Company but most recently had worked for Yamada in South Charleston as a deburrer. He attended Southgate Baptist Church. Francis loved eating ice cream and was raised at the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Home in Xenia. Francis served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Christian Grau; sisters Virginia Grau and Margaret Hayes. His survivors include his wife Lorraine J. (Kuhn) Grau, whom he married August 25, 1946; one son Michael R. and Diana Grau of Tampa, Florida; two daughters Sharon Grau and Tina and Marvin Magoto, Jr. both of Springfield; four grandchildren Garrett, Jordan, Wyatt, and Jason; several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A celebration of Francis's life will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the memorial home with Pastor Eric Mounts officiating. Entombment to follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
