News Death Notice

BOYD, Glenn W. 88, of Springfield, went to be with his Lord, on Saturday, February 19, 2011 in his residence. He was born on February 21, 1922, in Pike County, Ohio the son of Charles B. and Minnie Belle (Grizzel) Boyd. Mr. Boyd served our country in the United States Army during World War II and ministered in song among the congregations of the Church of God. He owned and operated College Cleaners in Springfield and retired from Morehead State University. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Dunn) Boyd of sixty-six years, son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sharon Boyd of Illinois; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Terry Ferryman of Springfield, and Judy and Dave Duffield of Springfield. The late son, Mark Boyd and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Boyd of Morehead, Kentucky. Five grandchildren: Deanna (Tim) Whalen, Jason (Doreen) Boyd, Will Duffield, Susan (Brandon) Sharp, and Sara Boyd; great grandson, Zachary Nolan, brother and sister-in-law, Edwin I. and Laura Boyd of Rapid City, South Dakota; and many loving foster children, and his special girl, Olivia Crew. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and seven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Ray Hannah officiating.
