HIDY, Hayes Porter 95, of Leesburg, Indiana and formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana. He was born in South Charleston, Ohio on May 18, 1911 the son of the late Lester and Sarah (Porter) Hidy. Hayes worked as a butcher for Clauer Brothers Grocery from 1927-1928, was a salesman for H.J. Heinz Company from 1936-1940, and retired as a manufacturers representative from Shatterproof Glass Corporation, Detroit, Michigan in 1976 after 36 years of service. He was a member of Anthony Lodge 455 Free and Accepted Masons. Survivors include a daughter, Betty (Ron) Sombronsky of Syracuse, Indiana; a son John (Shirley) Hidy of Leesburg, Indiana; six grandchildren, Jennifer Tuck, Andrea Hoeppner, and John T., Christopher, Jeffrey, and Jason Hidy; and four great grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Tuck and Alexander and Jeffrey Hidy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Lee Hidy in 2002; three brothers; and one sister. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Anthony Lodge services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Rev. Virginia Carlisle officiating. Burial will be in Hidy Cemetery, Jeffersonville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kosciusko County Home Health Care & Hospice, P.O. Box 1196, Warsaw, Indiana, 46581.
