She was born January 15, 1917, in Edwards County, Illinois to Clyde and Fleta (Leipold) Beckner. She retired from the former Potter & Brumfield in Princeton where she worked for over 25 years and also formerly co-owned and co-operated Jenkins Grocery. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Princeton and attended the Bethel Temple Community Church while in Evansville. She was an avid quilter in her retirement years and a member of Rebekah Lodge in Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clyde E. Jenkins in December of 1985. and her twin sister, Doris Downey.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Kenneth) Griesemer of Evansville, Ind.; 3 grandchildren, Cathy Harris, David Griesemer and Linda Robertson; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Muncie of Avon, Ind.; and 2 nieces and 2 nephews including, Jim Eads of Princeton.
Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2006, at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Rev. David Griesemer. Friends may visit from noon until the service hour Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Columbia "White" Church Cemetery in Princeton. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online at www.colvinfuneralhome.com
