Raymond SWANEY Obituary

News Death Notice

SWANEY, Raymond LaRoy 26, of New Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013. He was born November 26, 1986 in Wilmington, Ohio and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2005. A superb athlete and dedicated friend, RL, as he was known to friends, excelled in football, power lifting, and baseball. After graduation, he selflessly enlisted in the United States Marines. After proving himself a leader, fighter, and adventurer, he was honorably discharged in 2009 as a Corporal. He continued to give himself to those he led for another three years as a Sergeant. He is survived by his grandparents, Jonnie and LaRoy Lawson, his parents, Angley Swaney and Tony Swaney, and his brother, Robert Swaney (Swagler). Close family include Jimmy and Stacey Lawson, Dora Lawson, and their children. He is also survived by many loving family members from the Lawson, Swaney, and Mathis families, as well as his many loving and caring friends and his military family. We remember Raymond as an open hearted, protector with a goofy smile and laugh that would light up a room. His genuine and strong demeanor was always a welcome sight for those who needed support, assistance, or a friend. We will forever remember the way he lit up a room and made all of those around him stronger, better, and happier. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Michael Castle officiating. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery. You may express condolences to the family at www.littletonandrue.com

You helped her through some of her struggles with a big smile, lots of laughs and genuine hugs, all the while not letting on that you were struggling as well. God looked around his garden,
And He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this Earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew you were suffering.
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never,
Get well on Earth again.

He saw that the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, "Peace by Thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home .
RIP NEPHEW WE LOVE YOU AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!
Love Aunt Amy Uncle Paul And your little cousins Raymond Jacob Cherokee and Joseph .You will live on in our hearts and thoughts
