News Death Notice
KIDD, Reginald Lamar Was born in Springfield, Ohio to Welma and Margaret (Mitchell) Kidd on August 21, 1955. He was called home to his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on January 1, 2015. "Reggie", as family and friends lovingly knew him, resided in Dayton, Ohio for more than 30 years. Reggie attended South High School and was baptized at an early age at People's Baptist Church. Reggie most recently attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church located in Dayton, Ohio. Reggie was employed by Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 20 years. He was most recently employed by General Electric and Caresource. Reggie leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, LaKisha Kidd; the mother of his daughter, Cheryl Kidd; three grandchildren, Shianne Kidd, Arion Jones and Kaden Deatherage; his mother, Margaret Kidd Scott; 4 sisters, Yvonne "Sweetpea" (Clayton) Owens, Beverly (Howard) Crowley, Sharon Davis and Risé Kidd, two uncles, one aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his best friend, Gary Jackson. Reggie was preceded in death by his father, Welma Kidd and a niece, Michelle "Danny" Owens. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1124 W. Liberty St. Arrangements provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.

I am one of many at GE who enjoyed speaking with Reggie every day at work - he called us all "buddy" and brightened our day. He has been in my thoughts since I learned he was so sick, and I am saddened to learn he passed. What a loss to our world.

We had many conversations over the years passing the time at work. He was always in good spirits and would do whatever he could to make me smile when I was going through a hard time. His laughter would fill a room. I'm glad I got to know him. RIP Reggie. And as you would always say to me, "Attaboy Luther!"

Reggie was a sweet, kind and thoughtful man. I worked with him at GE for a lot of years and his smiling face will be greatly missed. He always had kind and encouraging words for me when I was going through a difficult time. I feel honored to have known him. Rest in peace Buddy.
