News Death Notice

BARDNELL, Bob (Robert) Leroy 78, a long time resident of Enon, left this world for a better place Friday April 10, 2015. He was born December 14, 1936 in Stark County, Ohio, son of the late Joseph and Catherine Bardnell. Graduate of Lincoln High School, Canton Ohio. Bob was a dedicated, loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his best friend and loving wife Donna M Bardnell, in November 2014, after 55 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by a daughter and three sons; Sherry and Paul Duckwall of Springfield, Rob Bardnell, Doug Bardnell, Darrin and Wendy Bardnell all of Enon, eight grandchildren; Scott and Amber Unklesbay of Beavercreek, Rachael Bardnell, Erika Bardnell, both of Springfield, Cody Bardnell, Skyler Bardnell, Hunter Bardnell all of West Carrolton, Jordan Bardnell, Dylan Bardnell both of Enon, four step-grandsons; Greg Duckwall and Brandon Mason both of Springfield, Justin and Jason Davis both of Tampa,FL, two great-grandsons; Nicholas and Cole Unklesbay both of Beavercreek, a special friend Sharon Caldwell of Enon, and numerous friends. Bob retired from Wright Patterson AFB in 1999. He was also an Air Force veteran, including performing with the Air Force band. Youth sports always held a special place in Bob's life, for 16 years he coached Park Layne Wee Arrows (football), Medlake Little League (baseball), TABB (basketball), Clark State (basketball) and Greenon HS football (asst coach). Bob also served as the President of the Greenon Local school board for several years. While living in Enon, he also wrote articles for the Enon Shopper. Visitation will be held 5-8 Monday, April 13, 2015 in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday in the funeral home with Hospice of Dayton Chaplain John Eshelman officiating. Burial will follow the service in Enon Cemetery. Bob's family would like to send a special thank you to the volunteers and employees of Hospice of Dayton for their loving, caring and respectful assistance to Bob and the entire Bardnell family. Bob will be loved and remembered always by all those that knew him.
