Ronald COLLIER Obituary

News Death Notice

COLLIER, Ronald 68, of Springfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2015. Ronn was born in Jackson, Ohio on February 7, 1947. He leaves behind his childhood sweetheart and best friend Connie, whom he was married to for 48 years. He was preceded in death by his dad, Paul; mom, Maggie Jane; and brother, Aril. Ronn and Connie had two children, Julie and Dan; six grandchildren, Annette, Brad, Carin, Cassie, Cameron, and Scott; and one great grandson, Jate. Ronn also leaves behind five brothers and sisters, Clyde, Paul, Anna Lee, Donese, and Dianna. Ronn is a 1965 graduate of Tecumseh High School. He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was 18 years old. He lived a full life...farmed for 30 years, opened Country Connection in 1984 and Collier's Family Restaurant in 2003 with many good family members, friends, and employees working for the same goals. Ronn received the selfless gift of a kidney/pancreas from an anonymous donor in 2002 that gave him 13 more productive years. A very special "Thanks" to all the doctors and nurses at the Ohio State University Hospital for their superior care through these years. Per Ronn's request, private graveside services will be held for immediate family under the direction of Pastor Del Wallace of Forest Valley Free Will Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
