Ronald HALE Obituary
News Death Notice
HALE, Ronald G. "Ronnie" 79, of Springfield passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 in Wexner Medical Center, Columbus of complications from a stroke. He was born April 5, 1934 in Washington Court House the son of Elmer and Irene (Leeth) Hale and was a 1952 graduate of Springfield High School. Ronnie retired from Olan Mills as Production Manager with 47 ½ years service. He was a member of Central Christian Church and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Ronnie built and piloted his own aircraft and recently completed his third airplane, ready for flight. He is survived by his wife of sixty years Mary Lou (Mounts) Hale; two sons and a daughter-in-law Steven R. and Deborah Hale of Danville, Indiana, and Thomas A. Hale of Springfield; two brothers and a sister-in-law Robert and Barb Hale of Cape Coral, Florida and Fred Hale of Springfield; two grandchildren Nathan T. and Aubrey E. Hale; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Cindy Lou Hale. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Ronnie's life will be Thursday at 11:00 AM. in Central Christian Church with Pastor Warren Banks officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church or to the Champaign County Pilots Club, c/o Urbana Airport. No words can fully express how sorry we are at Ronnie's passing. Even through our sadness, we have managed to recall happy times and memories with the Hale family, memories that have brought smiles to our faces. We love you all. Know that Ronnie has gone to a better place. We will all meet on the other side in God's mercy. God bless you all!

Ron was a special leader at our plant - loved and admired by everyone he worked with. He inspired many of us with his example and devotion to his family and his job. My talks with him in the past few years kept our friendship alive. I will miss that.

I worked with Ronnie on a daily basis at Olan Mills for 21 years. We often had conversations about his Bi-Plane he was building. So glad he was able to complete his great project.
I will miss Ronnie, he was a great friend.

I worked with Ronnie for many years at Olan Mills Production Plant. There was never a day when he wasnt smiling and brightening up everyones day! He will be missed and will live in our hearts and memories forever..........
