Russell HIGBEE Obituary

HIGBEE, Jr., Russell E. "Pinky Lee" 67, of Springfield passed away September 22, 2016 as a result of a motorcycle accident in North Carolina. He was born January 20, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Russell E. Sr. and Doris Mae (Strait) Higbee. Survivors include his mother; daughter, Cheri A. (Paul) George; sister, Joy Stevenson; niece and nephew, Heidi (Brent) Stevenson and Brian (Eileen) Stevenson; great-nephew, Brantley Stevenson; step-granddaughter, Alexis; lady friend, Norma Palmer and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his adopted daughter, Lisa; step-grandchildren, Sammy, Adrian and Bailee. He was preceded in death by his father; brother-in-law, Doug Stevenson; his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Russ graduated from Shawnee High School in 1968 and retired from Navistar in 1999. He thoroughly enjoyed riding his motorcycle and "He may be gone but my dad will not be forgotten." Russ rode with many groups, GWRRA, Women on Wheels, Come Ride with Us, American Motorcyclist Association and Concours Owners Group. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 4-8 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Moore and Pastor Bill Schwochow. Burial will follow in the Vale Cemetery.

I am so sorry, I was one of the guy's that stopped and helped him. I was so shocked to hear that he passed. I talked to him and helped him as he walked out if that ditch on his own. I wish we could have done more. Sorry again Bill Fry
