Dawn Holland Obituary
She was born on April 21, 1966 at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida and was a lifelong resident of Okaloosa County.
She was employed by North Okaloosa Medical Center as a nurse for 16 years and was awarded Nurse Of The Year in 2006 and 2008, was a member of New Beginnings Church, a 1984 graduate of Crestview High School and was attending NWFSC working on her B.S.N. in nursing. Her hobbies were golf and gardening.
Survivors include her parents, John and Luz Mehalopoulos; husband, Billy Holland; son, Michael Holland; paternal grandmother, Doris Mehalopoulous; 2 daughters, Christina Phillips and Mariah Daniels; brother, Christopher Mehalopoulos, sister, Carrie (John) Bright; 2 grandchildren, Emily and Laila; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 18 at New Beginnings Church with Brother Raymond Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Old Bethel Cemetery.
The family received friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview, is in charge of arrangements.

Dawn has left us, but her spirit will never leave those of us who have been blessed to know her. I will always remember her shining smile and her genuine kindness. She was a jewel, and now she is another light of love in heaven. We will miss her. I pray for her family through this loss. May God comfort and bless you.

It was my great honor and privilege to have been Dawn's golf "coach". She was one of the most dedicated and focused students I have ever taught, and it was a wonderful reward for me to see her face literally light up with pride as she realized that she was successfully learning this very difficult game. I cannot help but believe that Dawn will be playing her first, full 18 holes of golf on the most beautiful golf course she has ever seen--with the Almighty looking on, as her new coach. I will miss Dawn, greatly, but I will celebrate what her life meant to so many people.

I worked with Mrs. Dawn for 3 years at North Okaloosa Medical Center. She was a GREAT and WONDERFUL nurse. Her patients and co-workers REALLY loved her. She was not hard to get along with. I know she is up in Heaven looking down on us. You will be GREATLY missed Mrs. Dawn. See you one day... May God bless your family and keep them through this difficult time.
