Pamela Houk Obituary

Pamela "Pam" Houk brought her vibrant spirit into this world on September 18, 1954. She was born to Will Henry Howington and Gwendolene Walthers, in Pensacola, Florida as the oldest of four sisters. As a proud Navy kid, she had the opportunity to experience different places and cultures, with California holding a special place in her heart. She carried a deep love for life that she shared with everyone she met.

In 1976, she married the love of her life, Robert Lester "Bob" Houk, in National City, California. They shared a beautiful journey together until his passing in 2006. Pam was a free spirit-an unapologetic hippie who embraced life with passion, kindness and an infectious laugh. She believed in following her heart, surrounding herself with love and laughter, and never worrying about what others thought.

Her life was filled with adventure, creativity, and care for those around her. She held many roles over the years-homemaker, florist, and IRS employee among others-but above all she was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She adored her cats, cherished deep conversations, and always found joy in life's little moments.

Pam leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. She is survived by her mother, Gwendolene; her aunts, Ann Merle Fissel and Shirley Jean Wilson; and her sisters, Karen Michelle Montanez, Angela Lachelle Howington, and Jennifer Renee Taylor. She also leaves behind her children, Michael Duane Howington, Terry Joseph O'Neal, and Casandra Jean Houk; her cherished grandchildren, Kyle Joseph O'Neal, Jacob Michael O'Neal, Alexis Star O'Neal, and Andrew Joseph O'Neal; and a host of extended family members and dear friends; including her lifelong friend, Kara Duffy, who will miss her immensely.

Visitation was held on February 3rd, at 1:30 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton a service to honor Pam's life was held at 2:00 p.m. An inurnment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Bob.

Pam's laughter, warmth, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
